Having devoted the past 15 years of his life to volunteering in disability sport, Barrie Stephens was recognised for his efforts at the Welsh Sports Association Hall of Fame Awards evening, where he picked up the Unsung Hero Award at a ceremony at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.

Major boost for disability sport in Wales as 2012 figures revealed

More disabled people in Wales are taking part in sport than ever before, figures from Disability Sport Wales (DSW) have revealed. Nearly a year on from London 2012, the rise in participation reflects a trend over the past 10 years which has seen disability sport become one of the most successful community sporting programmes in Wales.

Phylp Butler Golf Day success

The third annual Phylp Butler was held at Bryn Meadows Golf Club last Friday. 30 teams to part in the day with all monies raised being donated to Disability Sport Wales. The event which is organised by our Caerphilly Development Officer, Paul Taylor proved once again to be an outstanding success.
