Cardiff

Welcome to the Cardiff page on the Disability Sport Wales website.

My name is Jo Coates-McGrath and I am the Disability Sport Wales Officer for Sport.Cardiff. I have been in post for over 11 years and am based at Cardiff Council's Heath Park Office.

Within Cardiff there is a wide range of sporting provision for disabled people of all ages including boccia, cricket, football, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair basketball, karate, cycling, swimming, plus many more.

Whether you are looking for a healthy lifestyle, to socialise and make new friends, keep fit, or strive to be a future participant in the Paralympics, Deaflympics or Special Olympics there should be something there for you.

In order to help support clubs deliver good quality sessions, Disability Sport Wales have intorduced insport. This is an accreditation process which sports clubs can go through to show they are committed to providing and delivery inclusive sport. Please contact me if your club is already providing sporting opportunities for disabled people, or would like to in the future. Look out for the insport logo alongisde the club details. This highlights the clubs that have already gained the accreditation.

If you would like further information on disability sport in Cardiff as a participant, club, coach, or volunteer, then just give me a call or send me an email. (contact details bottom left of this page).

I update the website regularly with news, events, and up and coming courses so please check regularly!
