FAQS
How do I book on to a workshop?
First of all find out if there is a workshop on in your area, if there is you can either contact the local authority Disability Sport Wales Development Officer who will book you on, or you can fill in a booking request form. This will then be forwarded to the workshop organiser and they will contact you with confirmation of your place and give you details of times and venues.
What will I get for going on a Typhoo Sport for All UK DIT workshop?
This depends which version of the workshop you do:
If you are a coach, volunteer, leader, or sports development officer then you will have the opportunity to do a 6hr workshop (3hrs theory and 3hrs practical) and you will get: a certificate of attendance, a participant worksheet booklet, 20 Activity cards, a drawstring bag, and a USB with the participant resource in tagged PDF format which is packed with further information linked to the content of the workshop.
If you work in a leisure facility, or for a National Governing Body of sport in Wales, then you will have the opportunity to do a 3hr workshop (theory only) and you will get: a certificate of attendance, a participant worksheet booklet, and a USB with the participant resource in tagged PDF format which is packed with further information linked to the content of the workshop.

I've done a course - how do I get involved with volunteering?
There are lots of opportunities (600,000 in fact!) for you to get involved with disability sport. Contact your Disability Sport Wales Development Officer for further information about what is happening near to you, or visit the FDSW Volunteering website.
Where can I find out more about coach education opportunities?
There are plenty of coaching and leadership workshops available across Wales, so it is useful to know what aspect of your coaching or leadership skills you want to further develop. You can get some ideas about this from sports coach UK or Sports Leaders UK, or you could contact the Welsh governing body for the sport you are interested in.
You can keep up to date with workshops offered by sports coach UK and runningsport in Wales by going on the Coaching Wales website and following the link to Coaching Courses in Wales
I'm a teacher - are there any courses that would be useful for me?
For a generic workshop on inclusion (covering a range of equity and diversity strands, of which disability is one) Sport Wales Active Young People, through PE & School Sport, offer an Inclusion Module.
For something specific to disability and including children and young people with impairments into your PE class or extra curricular sport teams, FDSW provide a UK DIT aimed at Teachers and Learning Support Assistants. Please contact FDSW for further information.
