Welcome to Flintshire’s page on the Disability Sport Wales Website.
My name is Donna Bullivant-Evans, Disability Sport Wales Development Officer for Flintshire. I am based in Deeside Leisure Centre, Flintshire.
Within Flintshire there are a range of sport clubs, from dodgeball, football, athletics and gymnastics to wheelchair rugby league and wheelchair curling. We are developing new provision on an ongoing basis so please keep checking the website for updates.
Sport Flintshire have recently achieved insport development ribbon level, which recognises Flintshire’s level of commitment to inclusion. Please contact any of the team to discuss inclusive provision, including our holiday clubs which run outside of term time for 4-6 and 7-11 year olds.
In order to help support clubs deliver good quality sessions Disability Sport Wales have introduced insport. insport is a four tiered (Ribbon, Bronze, Silver and Gold) identification and accreditation process which any sports club can go through to show they are committed to providing and delivering inclusive sport. If you are a mainstream club providing inclusive sport already or would like to please contact me. Look out for the insport logo that highlights some of the most inclusive sports clubs across Wales. If you are a club that want to offer sport to disabled people, then please get in touch to allow me to support you.
We have a range of courses which run in Flintshire. If you are a coach or volunteer there is the UK Disability Inclusion Training Course (UK DIT) which is currently available in Wales, courses run several times over the year so please contact me for upcoming dates.
