Peter Pearse Boccia Coach
With his performers aiming for the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympics, the Disability Sport Wales Academy Boccia Coach was crowned the Sport Wales Coach of the Year for 2010. A former Paralympian himself, Boccia Wales Head Coach Peter Pearse has been heading up the Welsh Academy since 2007. In 2010, his squad won countless titles across the UK and Europe.
Jim Munkley MBE Table Tennis
Jim has coached the academy table tennis squad for many years at Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff. His current stable of players include recent bronze medallist from the 2010 World Championships Sara Head. Jim is also a dedicated director on the board of Disability Sport Wales.
Sport Wales are the main adviser on sporting matters to the Welsh Assembly Government and are responsible for distributing funds from the National Lottery to sport in Wales. Sport Wales distribute Lottery funding to the Disability Sport Wales Community Programme.
The main focus of this funding is to provide opportunities for people with a disability to take part in sport in their local authority whether young or old. We hope to provide the right environment and encouragement for individuals to improve their health and fitness by taking part in sport in local clubs.

David Anthony, from Neath, has been selected to represent Great Britain as part of the Paralympics GB team in the sport of Wheelchair Rugby.
