What is your day job?

Disability Sports Wales Development Officer for Caerphilly

 

Why did you get involved with (disability) sport?

I started as a volunteer 20 years ago and they have been working for disability sport for the past 10 years. I have been involved with many disability sports clubs such as swimming football and wheelchair basketball.

 

How long have you been a tutor for DSW?

6 years

 

Why did you become a DSW tutor?

To increase my knowledge and my confidence in disability sport. Also to help coaches and volunteers become more confidants working with disabled people in a sport and environment.


What are the good things about tutoring the UK DIT workshops?

Knowing that you are helping coaches and volunteers to have a more positive attitude in delivering their sessions with disabled people taking part.

 

Give us one interesting fact about yourself:

I have had two hip replacements before the age of 47.
