Brecon Integrated Sports Association has been running since 2002 and provides all year round training and events in the Brecon area of Powys.
Affiliated to Special Olympics , four of our members have represented Great Britain in the World Summer Games in 2011 Athens , 2015 Los Angeles and in Abhu Dhabi in 2019 .
17 athletes from Brecon went to the National Summer Games in Sheffield in 2017 and came back with 23 medals from the sports of Basketball , Tennis , Badminton and Athletics .
The club offers opportunities to take part in Athletics, Football, Cricket, Basketball, Boccia, Kurling, Table tennis , Horse riding and Tennis.
We have volunteer coaches .and offer volunteering opportunities to parents and students each week.
It is open to all disabilities, and specifically caters for children and young people. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
During the holidays, outdoor activity days are offered in Sailing, Canoeing and Horse Riding, all which take place in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
We also run a Special Olympic Basketball Team.
The club attend events such as the Rotary Games and enjoy taking part in organised Outdoor activities . We welcome people of all ages and abilities to our club night sessions.
Volunteers are welcome and further training will be given to volunteers subject to a current DBS check.
The club takes place during term time, on Friday evenings from 7pm - 8pm in the Sportshall at Brecon Leisure Centre.
The Junior Club takes place at the Hall at Ysgol Penmaes on Thursday `s after School from 4pm-5pm
The cost is £3 per week
