Disability Sport Wales are a Disability Confident Employer, and welcome applications from everyone who considers themselves to be eligible for the role.  We participate in the ‘Offer an interview’ scheme, if you identify as a disabled person and meet 80% of the minimum criteria for the post, please consider opting in to the ‘offer an interview’ on your application form.

How Offer an Interview works at Disability Sport Wales

The Offer an Interview scheme is part of the UK Government's Disability Confident programme.  The programme helps employers create more inclusive workplaces for disabled people.

You can find out more about the scheme here:  https://disabilityconfident.campaign.gov.uk

You may be offered an interview if you:

  • Consider yourself to be a disabled person.
  • Complete and return the Offer an Interview Form with your application.
  • Meet at least 80% of the essential requirements listed in the role description for the job.

Offer an Interview Form

The Offer an Interview Form is available with every job advert.

How Our Recruitment Process Works

1. Reviewing the Role

Before advertising a role, the recruiting officer reviews the role description and completes an Equality Impact Assessment to help make sure the recruitment process is fair and accessible.

2. Anonymous Applications

Personal information is removed from applications before they are reviewed. This helps reduce bias and keeps the process fair.

3. Assessing Applications

At least two people review and score each application, including the recruiting officer.

Applications are checked against the criteria in the role description. Reviewers will decide whether the information given by the applicant in their application form:

  • Meets the criteria.
  • Needs to provide more evidence.
  • Does not meet the criteria.

4. Shortlisting for Interview

Applicants who submit an Offer an Interview Form and meet at least 80% of the essential requirements will be included on the interview shortlist.

5. Important to Know

Submitting an Offer an Interview Form does not automatically mean someone will get an interview.

BUT, if you meet all of the below:

  • identify as a disabled person,
  • submit the Offer an Interview Form with your completed Application Form, and
  • meet at least 80% of the minimum criteria identified in the role description,

you will be offered an interview under the scheme.
