Welcome to the Rhondda Cynon Taf Get Out Get Active section. My name is Brendan Hopkins and I’m the Get Out Get Active (GOGA) Activator for Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Get Out Get Active (GOGA) in Rhondda Cynon Taf
The GOGA project in Rhondda Cynon Taf aims to get more inactive and disabled people active through any form of sport or physical activity, with a particular focus in communities with high levels of economic deprivation. Over the three year duration of the project GOGA plans to develop an inclusive, sustainable activity programme, working in partnership with a range of clubs, groups and organisations.
Who can get involved in GOGA?
Participants- If you have a disability and would like to become more physically active GOGA could help. If you are interested in trying an activity which is not currently supported by GOGA get in touch anyway, as part of the Disability Sport Wales team there are a large variety of inclusive sports clubs and groups we can signpost you to.
Volunteers- If you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer on an exciting new programme then GOGA may be able to help. As the programme continues to grow so will the need for volunteers in a variety of roles. Clubs/groups/organisations- If you are looking to make your activities more inclusive or have any ideas for potential partnership work please get in touch via the contact details at the bottom of this page.
GOGA Supported Activities
Get Out Get Active is continually working to develop new activities and provide help and support to partners looking to make their delivery more inclusive and attract more disabled participants. Be sure to check in frequently not to miss out on new GOGA supported activities.
Rhondda Athletics Club
The Rhondda Athletics Club is working with GOGA to upskill coaches and become more inclusive. The club is currently working towards Disability Sport Wales’ insport accreditation. If you’re looking to give athletics a try why not go along to one of their sessions and learn from their friendly expert coaches.
Summer- Tuesday & Thursday 6pm-8pm King George's Athletics Track, Clydach
Winter- Tuesday & Thursday 6pm-8pm Tonypandy Community College
First session free, £4 per week to attend both the Tuesday and Thursday session.

Children’s Disability Swimming Lessons
GOGA is working in partnership with RCT Leisure to provide high quality children’s disability swimming sessions throughout RCT. The sessions have small class sizes and a parent or carer is required to go in the water with their child during the lesson. Currently running in one location with plans to expand to other leisure centres in future.
Friday 6:15pm-6:45pm, Rhondda Fach Sports Centre.
£4.25 per session or free for Leisure for Life members
