Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) is the National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of wheelchair rugby in England, Scotland and Wales. Following a 5 year highly successful development programme, which has seen the sport grow from 7 teams to 24, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Development Officer for Wales, to support targeted growth across the Welsh regions.
This is a Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2020. For a suitable candidate and subject to funding being available there may be an opportunity to extend this.
This post holder will report to the National Development Director and be responsible for developing and delivering the game in the regions. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who shares our passion for providing opportunities for individuals to get involved in wheelchair rugby as players, officials, coaches and administrators. Your experience in delivering sports development activity will be important as will your experience of disability sport – if you have knowledge and experience of wheelchair rugby that will be even better! You will be a team player but equally comfortable with working on your own to deliver key targets. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and you will be comfortable with working with a wide range of partners. Above all you will want to provide great opportunities for everyone who wants to be part of our sport and you will be prepared to go that extra mile to make that happen.
If this excites you then excite us with your application, which must be received by 12pm Friday 22nd February 2019. To apply please go to www.gbwr.org.uk where you will find the full job description and application form.
