Job Opportunity: Welsh Development Officer - Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby

This is an exciting time for wheelchair rugby in Great Britain. Following our gold medal success at the Tokyo Paralympics we are now excited to announce that we have secured the World Wheelchair Rugby European Championships 2023 which will be hosted in Cardiff at the Principality stadium.

With this momentum we are looking to recruit a Welsh Development Officer to lead our work in Wales and ensure we have a thriving network of clubs and volunteers and raise the profile of wheelchair rugby to reach more people. You will work with key delivery partners such as the Welsh Professional Rugby Clubs, Disability Sport Wales and the Welsh Rugby Union who we partner with to deliver wheelchair rugby opportunities and support and grow our clubs and workforce.

We are seeking an individual with a passion for developing sustainable sporting opportunities for disabled people and being part of our European Championships legacy. You will have good knowledge of sports development principals and practices, be self-motivated, organised and able to work independently, and have experience of working with relevant stakeholders. Experience of working, coaching or volunteering in disability sport and/or wheelchair rugby would be an advantage.

The role is 1 day a week (7.5 hours) and home based with travel around Wales (and England if required). Candidates will be expected to work evenings and weekend when required.
