Hosted at Cardiff’s Tramshed, the format encourages inspiration and connection by including:

  • an informal networking lunch
  • an opportunities showcase (similar to a careers fayre), and;
  • a live recording of the Disability Sport Wales Podcast, featuring a panel of disabled young people in sport, alongside non-disabled allies.

It is planned as a relaxed, inclusive event championing Young Leaders and organisations who support them.
Disability Sport Wales aims for this concept to become an annual event, and in its first iteration will focus on the
theme #JustAsk.

Live Podcast / Vodcast Panel

The Disability Sport Wales Podcast is hosted by T11 sprinter James Ledger and aims to inspire listeners with some truly inspirational stories with sporting celebrities who have overcome significant obstacles to lead incredible lives.

The Inspiring Connections Day will feature a live recording of the podcast, split into three sessions discussing three topics. Special guests from the para sport world will discuss topics that encourage an environment to #JustAsk any questions you may hold about disability, impairment and para sport.

Panel discussions and guest speaker presentations during the event will champion young people’s involvement and engagement in the sector in a relaxed and inclusive environment.

Opportunities Showcase

There will also be a networking session after lunch with an area for stalls/stands where organisations can showcase their opportunities to the young leaders attending. These might include work opportunities, access to support or services from the organisation, apprenticeships, qualifications, voluntary opportunities etc.
