Para Sport Event Management Senior Officer
Disability Sport Wales are looking for an innovative, ambitious, and dynamic Para Sport Event Management Senior Officer, with exceptional project and stakeholder management skills and a passion to establish Wales as a go-to location for para sport events.

Location:
Flexible (blend of home or office location (offices in Cardiff and Deeside) with time spent in Swansea required). DSW Head Office in at Sport Wales National Centre, Cardiff. CF11 9SW
Salary:
£31,200 pa
Hours:
37.5 hrs/week (full-time) (there will be requirement for flexibility in these hours to suit the demands of the event)
Contract:
12 months fixed term (with view to continuation if possible) with ability to work these hours flexibly to suit the demands of the event.

Travel:
There will be some need to travel within Wales and the UK where required

The Federation of Disability Sport Wales (or Disability Sport Wales (DSW)) are the lead organisation in Wales for disability sport and sport for disabled people. The Opportunity:
Primarily the role will be accountable for the coordination of delivery and growth of the Para Sport Festival which will be hosted annually in Swansea until 2024. The effective planning and delivery of the Para Sport Festival, with a focus on the targetted future growth and legacy of the concept will form the core elements of the post holders work programme. The responsibility for the operational delivery of the events within the Festival will be the responsibility of the British or Welsh Governing Bodies.
The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the planning and facilitation of the event (and the coordination and organisation of the sport competitions alongside partners which are part of the festival), including the logistics, communication, and monitoring of community impact. An innovative and proactive candidate, who can communicate effectively with a range of national and regional partners, will have a platform to build their knowledge and experience.
Relationship, stakeholder and project management skills are crucial to this role, therefore you should be confident in liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, with the ability to negotiate in order to identify solutions, and with creativity and planning to produce high quality events with broad ranging local and community impacts. Some experience of event marketing would also be helpful.
As with any events role some flexibility is required with working hours as the event schedule demands, including some travel within and outside Wales.
