Education and Training

DSW offer a range of education and training opportunities designed to support inclusive practice for disabled people in sport and physical activity. Our training and workshops range from self-paced e-learning modules to face to face practical courses with our experienced tutors. 

Our Disability Inclusion Training is delivered over 3 levels to offer a tailored experience for all learners.  

Level 1 – Free self-paced e-learning module  

Level 2 & 3 – 3-hour practical session with an experienced tutor – exploring applying inclusive practice in your setting, effective communication, adapting sessions and overcoming barriers.

The Boccia Leaders Award is a 3 - hour workshop, introducing the fundamental skills and knowledge to deliver boccia in the community. It covers both officiating and coaches aspects of boccia. It is designed for those with little or no knowledge of boccia.

1hr 30min workshop aiming to increase knowledge and awareness of best practice around inclusive marketing of sport and physical activity.

Inclusive learning programme aimed at primary school pupils in years 5 and 6 (Key stage 2). The aim of the course is to help pupils create innovative ways to include all children in the games and activities they play.

The course is free of charge to Primary Schools and takes approximately 45 minutes. A school hall would be an ideal area for the course to take place with one class at a time, and several courses can take place during one school day.
