What is Boccia Leaders Award?

The Boccia Leaders Award is a 3 - hour workshop, introducing the fundamental skills and knowledge to deliver boccia in the community. It covers both officiating and coaches aspects of boccia.

Topics covered include:

  • Boccia basics - An introduction of the sport
  • Officiating a game - Explore the rules of boccia and how to apply them 
  • Boccia players - An overview of disability awareness and classification 
  • Leading a boccia session - A look at different boccia related games and activities 
  • Coaching boccia - An introduction to creating boccia skills. 

Who is this course for? 

The course is designed for people with no or little experience of boccia. It's also a great introduction for people who wish to progress onto coaching or officiating pathways.  The course is suitable for most people including teachers, group leaders, students, community workers, sport officers and individuals.
