Administrator and Governance Officer (Wales Deaf Sports)

Salary:
This is a voluntary, non-paid position as part of the Wales Deaf Sports Committee. The role will require varying levels of commitment per month (average 2-3 hours but potentially more in the lead up to meetings).
Responsibilities:
- Alongside the Chair, be responsible for coordination and organisation of quarterly Wales Deaf Sports meetings (including the AGM).
- Ensure that a NRCPD-registered BSL interpreter is booked for all meetings.
- Be responsible for taking and distributing minutes of Wales Deaf Sport meetings to all members.
- Collate and circulate papers for meetings on behalf of the Chair.
- Ensure Wales Deaf Sports are compliant with all requirements set out for a charity by the Charities Commission.
- Ensure that all Wales Deaf Sports policies and procedures are up to date and fit purpose
- Ensure compliance at the appropriate level with Sport Wales’ Capability Framework and The Governance and Leadership Framework for Sport.
- Liaise with Disability Sport Wales’ Deaf Sport Senior Officer to support ongoing governance development and the identification of funding streams for Wales Deaf Sport.
- Monitor and maintain an up-to-date list of contact details of members.
- Ensure regular communication between the Wales Deaf Sport Committee,
- Wales Deaf Sports Members and affiliated organisations.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Organising and minuting meetings (in-person and online).
- Policy and procedure writing and implementation experience.
- Understanding of Governance Frameworks and expectations of charities.
Desirable Experience:
- British Sign Language competency.
- General computer literacy and experience hosting Zoom meetings.
