Head Over Heels Gymnastics Club in Newport were the winners of our last community survey prize draw, receiving £500 worth of support, delivered through £250 Disability Inclusion Training vouchers and £250 worth of equipment delivered straight to their club!

Head Over Heels was established by British Gymnastics’ trained coaches, Kate Humphries and Bev Proctor in February 2007. The club currently has over 1000 members across all its age groups.

Our Regional Partnership Senior Officer for Gwent Steve McGrath visited the club recently to deliver the clubs prize, meet the coaches and to learn more about the great opportunities the club provides for disabled children in their local community! Steve said “it was great to visit the club and hear direct from Bev, Kate and the team about how they make their sessions inclusive of disabled children”.

Bev from Head Over Heels said “Thank you to Disability Sport Wales for an informative and focused Disability Inclusion training session for our team - lots to think about and some quick wins that should make our classes at Head Over Heels even more inclusive. Thank you too for the really useful equipment that will be utilised across our timetable of sessions”.

If you are interested in giving gymnastics a go then you can get in touch with the club via their website here  (opens new page) or by email info@hohgymnastics.co.uk.
