Aberystwyth Town All Stars, the multi Disability team now based at Aberystwyth Town Football Club, on Sunday took part in their first competitive matches at Pembroke Leisure Centre, as they took part in the West Wales PAN League, after only three training sessions. With an over 16's team playing in the top division, the Premiership, Aberystwyth Town All Stars were unlucky to fall to three single goal defeats in their games, losing 2-1, 1-0, 1-0.
Matthew Clement, Football Development Officer for Inclusion in Central Wales, commented on their inclusion in the PAN League "It was great too see the lads playing their first fixture and increasing opportunties for people with a disability to play football. That is one of our key objectives moving forward at the Welsh Football Trust to grow the game and be inclusive. The next stage moving forward is too develop an u16s team so that people with a disbaility u16 can play football in a fun and safe environment"
The All Stars, who include Will Davey, who was part of the first Wales LD squad earlier in the season, now turn their attention to Skewen on March the 3rd, as they look to improve, and hopefully enter a second squad in the Championship, before the end of the season.
