Paralympic and world champion Aled Sion Davies will captain Wales at this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Davies, a member of the 33-strong athletics team, will compete in the F42 discus.
The 23 year-old will lead the approximately 230-strong squad as the nation competes across 17 sports.
"It's a huge honour. I'm a patriotic Welshman as it is and being a part of this Wales team has been such a special thing," he said.
"To know that I'm now leading it is even better and I'm looking forward to going up to Glasgow and hoping everyone else can follow me and go for gold."

"He's gained a lot of experience at major sporting events over the last few years and was propelled into the spotlight after his Paralympic medal wins meaning he'll be able to impart a lot of valuable advice to other members of the team.
"We have every confidence that he will make a top class Team Captain."
Davies was one of ParalympicsGB's stars at the London 2012 Paralympics, winning a bronze medal in the F42/44 shot put before claiming gold in the F42 discus.
At the IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon in July 2013, he set a world record to win the F42 shot putt with a best of 14.71m.
In the discus, his favoured event, Davies threw 47.62m in the final round to win by more than six metres and claim a second gold.
In May, Davies set a world record in the F42 category men's discus at the IPC Athletics Grand Prix in Grosseto, Italy.
Davies - the IPC's athlete of the month for May - broke Fanie Lombaard's 12-year-old world record of 47.85m with a throw of 48.69m.
The Bridgend athlete was also involved in the Queen's Baton Relay during its visit to Wales in May.
