insport Programme Celebrates Inclusive Sport from Across Wales

Disability Sport Wales (DSW) is proud to highlight the continued impact of the insport Programme in supporting and celebrating inclusive delivery across the Welsh sport sector. 

Wales Golf - insport NGB Gold

Wales Golf achieved the insport NGB Gold standard, reflecting a strong, organisation-wide commitment to inclusive practice. The panel praised the organisation’s shared passion and noted its growing international influence in disability golf, positioning Wales as a leader in inclusive golf development. The lived experience group was highlighted as a particularly strong example of ensuring strategies are shaped by participant needs. 

Welsh Fencing - insport NGB Ribbon

Welsh Fencing was recognised for expanding wheelchair fencing opportunities through their investment in wheelchair fencing platforms. The panel also noted the organisation’s continued efforts to support and host major para fencing events in Wales.  

Basketball Wales - insport NGB Ribbon

Basketball Wales impressed the panel with its authentic and strategic approach to inclusion. The Junior NBA programme was commended, alongside initiatives such as the Guardian Ballers programme and the development of women’s basketball, which highlight a broader commitment to inclusion and intersectionality. 

Mid Wales Sport Partnership - insport Partnerships Ribbon

The Mid Wales Sport Partnership (MWSP) also achieved Ribbon status, becoming the first regional partnership in Wales to do so. The panel recognised MWSP’s passionate, values-driven team, and its strong commitment to partnership working to support inclusive delivery and growth.  

Jo Hendy, insport Senior Officer at Disability Sport Wales, said: 

“These achievements reflect meaningful progress across the sector, with organisations taking real action to improve inclusive opportunities for disabled people.”
