Anglesey County Council and a number of local clubs have been awarded Disability Sport Wales insport standards at a recent awards evening.
With the growth of disability sport in Wales, Disability Sport Wales developed the national insport program, working with key partners within Local Authorities, Clubs and National Governing Bodies of Sport. The intention of the insport programmes is to support the delivery of inclusive opportunities, with the vision of ‘transforming lives through the power of sport.’
The official presentation took place at Amlwch Leisure Centre on Tuesday evening to coincide with the successful Môn independents Swimming Club based at the centre. The presentation was attended by the 10 successful clubs and Anglesey Leisure department along with Jon Morgan CEO Disability Sport Wales, Council Leader Ieuan Williams, Councillor Aled Morris Jones (Portfolio Holder Leisure, Tourism and Economic Development) and local Councillor Richard Jones.
