On Sunday June 23rd 2013 seven students from Caerphilly Kyokushinkia Karate Club entered the inaugural Caerphilly 10k run raising money for Disability Sport Wales. The seven students did themselves & their club proud, running in full traditional karate dogi ( uniform ) managing to collect £ 385 for the registered charity.

On the 31st of October we had the pleasure of inviting Paul Taylor, Disability Sport Wales insport Development Officer for Caerphilly to the club in Abertridwr YMCA. We were able to present Paul with the cheque & take some photographs with the students.

Paul was very impressed with the club & was able to spend some time chatting with the instructors & watch some students train in the early class. He was very appreciative of the money that was raised & the chief instructor of the club Sensei Laurence Power was very proud of his students for taking part in the Caerphilly 10k & thanked Senpai Richard Sapey for organising the fund raising & presentation evening.
