Disability Sport Wales Development Officer (Fixed Term) - Prevention & Wellbeing

21 hours per week
Fixed Term for up to 12 months

Through our partnerships with Disability Sport Wales and Sport Wales we are seeking to appoint a Disability Sport Development Officer to lead the next phase of our mission to transform lives for people with disabilities through the power of sport.  Bridgend County Borough Council has made good progress to date and has achieved In Sport silver accreditation via Disability Sport Wales.  We are seeking an inspirational individual who can work at a strategic level, plan the delivery of population outcomes, be influential in the development of partnerships and networks whilst also furthering our collaborative working with Health, Public Health, Education and Social Care.

This post will connect the work of the community programmes including clubs, organisations and projects to the strategic aspirations for sport in Wales and the development of healthier and more active communities.

Applicants should have a relevant degree in health, sport or social care and relevant experience of working with people with disabilities to develop activities and opportunities.

This post will be for 21 hours per week and for a 12 month period in the first instance with the potential to increase to 2 years.

This post is funded by Disability Sport Wales.

Applicants should note that a criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will be necessary for the successful applicant.

Closing Date: Wednesday 24th October 2018
