Dylan joined the club when he was five as a complete beginner and always attends every session. His effort and hard work have paid off as in February he swam 400mtrs (16 lengths) and in May he swam 800mtrs (32 lengths).  He aims to swim one mile (64 lengths) on the 24th June at Colwyn Leisure Centre, home of the club.

Dylan is going to make this a sponsored event as his mum Karen is going to start up a local HemiHelp group which will help parents and also raise awareness of the condition.

Conwy Whales Head Swimming Teacher Angie Board said "Dylan has worked very hard to improve his stamina in order to take on this challenge.  It is typical of him to try to help others in this way.  Everybody at the club is right behind him and wish him well."

Conwy Whales Swimming Club is a club for people with disabilities that was established with the help and support of Disability Sport Wales.  It is the only club of it’s type in the area and is one of the most successful in Wales.

If anyone wishes to sponsor Dylan can they please send any monies to Hemi-Help,Camelford House, 89 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TP

For further information regarding the swim please contact Angie Board, Conwy Whales Swimming Club, on 01492 516412 or Ian Martin, Disability Sport Wales on 07717 543420.
