DYNAMIC CHAIR NEEDED FOR THE UK'S LEADING SPORT DISPUTE RESOLUTION BODY

Sport Resolutions (UK), Chair

£10k per annum

Approx. 20 days per year

Four Year Term

London

Drug-taking; match-fixing; child protection and disputes over financial issues, funding and the selection of athletes have all become more contentious and high profile as commercialism and competitiveness in sport increases.

Sport Resolutions is the premier arbitrator and mediator of disputes in sport, having helped to resolve over one thousand disputes across 50 sports, since adjudicating on its first case 15 years ago.   Sport Resolutions has consistently grown in stature and reputation, now dealing with over 200 matters each year, the most high profile of which receive extensive media coverage.

Now this independent, not-for-profit organisation needs to ensure that it is fit and robust enough to deal with what will almost certainly be a growing workload in the years ahead. It is looking for a new chairperson, to carry on the inspiring work of its retiring chair, who will have already demonstrated the commitment; drive; sensitivity and integrity needed to deal with its broad range of stakeholders, including Government bodies; sports administrators; athletes; event organisers; lawyers; medics; financiers and educationalists.

In addition to hearing disputes, Sport Resolutions also offers training; advice; conferences, workshops and seminars; extensive case history information and learning support for students and academics. It is the organisation's aim to expand its services and widen its sources of income so that more funds can be re-invested in protecting the integrity and fairness of sport.

The successful candidate will have substantial board-level experience combined with an interest in sport, governing bodies and effective dispute resolution. They will have vision, energy and a clear sense of purpose to lead a strong and confident organisation through the next crucial stage of its development so that it successfully fulfils its exciting potential.
