If your child loved having fun on the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s free play schemes during the school summer holidays then they will also enjoy the new ‘In the Zone’ sports and play sessions every Saturday afternoon at Penarth Leisure Centre.

Just like the summer schemes, these new weekly sessions are also completely FREE, and involve sports, arts and crafts, messy play and more. The sessions take place between 2pm and 3:55pm and are for children aged five to 11. ‘In the Zone’ is completely inclusive with something for all youngsters to have a go at, including those with any disabilities.

Joanne Jones, the Vale Council’s Play Development Officer said: "We are recreating everything that kids love about the summer holidays into two hours of fun every Saturday. Everyone is welcome, whether you have been a regular at summer schemes or are totally new to it and you want to see what play schemes are all about. You can try out loads of sports, get messy making things and generally have a great time. And the best thing of all is that the sessions are completely free!"

The ‘In the Zone’ sessions are being provided thanks to funding from a Community Focused Schools grant and for further information please contact Joanne Jones on 01446 704809.
