This February half term the 5x60 Taf Team at Rhondda Cynon Taff made their holiday provision inclusive to the pupils from the special needs school in the area – Ysgol Ty Coch.
Monday saw the team organise cheerleading day which was ran by instructors from the Richards School of Dance (RSD). The pupils had the chance to learn new dance routines, stunts and tumbling before putting all their new skills into a 10-minute routine, which they performed for their parents at the end of the day.

Tuesday saw the team organise a football day which was ran by community coaches from Cardiff City Football Club. The pupils had opportunities to learn and develop their football skills as well as play in many small matches. Due to the hard work of one particular pupil he was invited to train at Cardiff City’s disability sessions. At the end of the event the pupils received a certificate and a poster of the Cardiff City first team.

The pupils enjoyed making new friends and joining in the 5x60 activities. The feedback from parents, RSD and Cardiff City Football Club and the pupils was excellent. They are all looking forward to the next school holidays already.
Due to the success at the event new disability cheerleading sessions will be situated in the Rhondda Cynon Taf Area in the near future.
