1)     Rachel Morris (Pembroke) wins Gold in the UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships in the Handcycling event

2)    6 Welsh Athletes along with 2 Welsh based athletes competing in IWAS Junior Athletics World Championships – Nathan Stephens, Aled-Sion Davies, Owain Taylor, Kyron Duke, Daniel Lucker, Joshua Morgan. Also Hollie Arnold & Vicky Silk, who are based in Cardiff now join the GB Team. Therefore representation of 45% of welsh athletes in GB Team.

3)    IPC World Swimming Championships – So far following medals have been won.

Dave Roberts Gold 100m Free, Silver 400m Free, Bronze 50m Free, Bronze Relay

Nyree Lewis Gold 100m Back, Bronze Relay

Rhiannon Henry Gold 100m Fly, Silver 400m Free

Liz Johnson Bronze 100m Breaststroke

Also Swansea based Eleanor Simmonds wins 4 Gold Medals

4)    A number of Welsh athletes will be attending a multi-sport training camp at the GB Team Base Camp for London 2012. Bath University will host squads such as Boccia, Wh Rugby, Goalball, Sitting Volleyball to name a few. Many of our Academy and Performance athletes wil be put through their paces over the 5 day camp.
