Mid Wales Rifle Shooting Club is Bang on Target

A Mid Wales club, have set up new opportunities for Disabled people to take part in Target Shooting at their base in St Harman, with the help of inventor John Kelman from Carmarthenshire Disabled Air Targeters.

He created the Equaliser, which makes it easier for disabled people to fire a rifle. The gun rests on a special structure, and can be triggered with a persons foot, hand or mouth.

The Equaliser complete with laser signals have now been patented, to convert light into sound to enable visually impaired participants take part.

John said, "Shooting gives them a brilliant boost, because you add an element of competition !"

The Equalisers have been a big benefit for members at his club.

Now the club at St Harman, hope to raise money to buy the specialised equipment which can help any person with a Disability take part.

For anyone wishing to try target shooting at the club, please contact Mike or Shirley Atkins on 01597 870 388.
