Multi-Paralympian, ex-World Champion Nathan Stephens has been appointed as Disability Sport Wales Talent ID Officer to find the stars of the future.
The role will operate within the Disability Sport Wales Performance Unit, supporting the identification and development of talented athletes throughout Wales. The role will play an important part in delivering a strong talent pool with an increase in the number and depth of athletes who have the ability to develop further into Academy & Performance structures.
Stephens will perform his role as Talent ID officer alongside his training for Rio 2016 as he still aspires to be an athlete at the Paralympics next year and Disability Sport Wales are supporting Nathan in his ambitions as he no longer receives UK Sport funding.
The main focus of the talent programme which Stephens will play an integral role is to find the next generation of athletes aspiring to Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and beyond but also to find any potential athletes that can burst onto the scene for Rio 2016 Paralympic Games & Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Nathan has been a figurehead of disability sport in Wales for the last decade and is an inspirational role model to aspiring athletes.
