The Royal Association for Disability Rights (RADAR), has included a sports category for the first time in its prestigious People of the Year Awards.

In conjunction with Lloyds TSB, the Sports Personality of the Year Award will be made to an individual who has achieved significant sporting success and/or inspired or enabled other disabled people to do so.

The judges will look for:
• Evidence of inspiring people living with health conditions or disabilities to engage in sport
• Evidence of raising expectations and aspirations
• Being a role model
• Sporting achievements at any level


The closing date is 17th September 2010.
