The ParalympicsGB team set their sights firmly on Rio today. Meet the 10 archers who will compete this summer in the iconic Sambodromo.

The archery team will include Welsh Para-Archers Dave Phillips, from Cwmbran, and Jodie Grinham, originally from Cardigan.

Penny Briscoe, Chef de Mission for ParalympicsGB said,

“I am very proud to be announcing that these 10 archers are selected to ParalympicsGB for Rio 2016. The competition within the para-archery squad is fierce and so I have every confidence that these athletes have had to work incredibly hard to get here today.

“I would like to pay tribute to all the work done at Archery GB by the support team and I look forward to seeing them in action in Rio this summer.”

Hilda Gibson, Team Leader for Archery, said:

“This is a fantastic day for the athletes and we are pleased to take a day off all our training in order to celebrate how hard these archers have worked over many years to get to this point. For many of them, the Paralympics has been a dream for a long time and now that they have reached this point I know they will be fired up to do their best in competition later this year.”
