To celebrate the achievements of Sports Leaders across Wales, Disability Sport Wales’ Inclusive Futures project was one of many organisations present at the lunchtime reception, with Ieuan Coombes (IF Ambassador), James Ledger (IF Mentor) and Olivia Van Den Bogerd (Platinum Young Ambassador) representing the excellent work of young disabled and non-disabled people in Swansea.

We were delighted to showcase our work and the contribution made to the project in Swansea by Ieuan, James and Olivia who were able to share their experiences as leaders in sport with Assembly Members such as Ken Skates (Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport & Tourism) and Carwyn Jones (First Minister of Wales), and newly appointed Chief Executive of Sports Leaders UK, Richard Norman. We were also able to demonstrate the excellent partnership work between Disability Sport Wales, Youth Sport Trust and the City & County of Swansea Sports Development team and their Young Ambassadors, whose on-going support is essential for continued success.

We were proud to be part of the event as we will soon deliver a suite of Sports Leaders Awards across Swansea as part of a wider project that will provide young disabled people with increased confidence, self-esteem and transferable skills that can improve future employability prospects.
