Swansea Stingrays Gala Penlan Leisure Centre Saturday

On the 12th April, Swansea Stingrays held there annual Disability Swimming Gala which became a debut gala for four talented swimmers from Carmarthenshire. 

The swimmers were invited to enter after showing potential at the Carmarthenshire Disability Sport Wales Gala in February 08.

In the novice section of the gala were:

 

Hefin Evans from Nantgaredig School came 3rd in heat 3 of the 25m Freestyle, 2nd in heat 1 of the 25m Breaststroke and 2nd again in heat 2 of the 25m Backstroke.

Youssef El Tawb from Glan-Y-Mor School came 8th in heat 3 of the 25m Freestyle, and 8thin heat 3 of the 50m Freestyle, the experience of a bigger competition was overwhelming for Youssef.

Gwennan Jones Nantgaredig School came 3rd in heat 1 of the 25m Freestyle, 3rd in heat 1 of the 25m Breaststroke race.

Scott Brook form Nantgaredig School came 6th in heat 1 of the 100m Freestyle and again in heat 1 of the 100m Freestyle he came 2nd and in heat 1 of the 50m Freestyle he came 4th.

Swansea Stingrays Gala was a very successful event for all four Carmarthenshire competitors who have now been invited to train on a regular basis with Swansea Stingrays to develop their potential.
