Location:           Mobile workplace

Status:                0.5 Part-time contract

Salary:               £11,000

Reports to:      National Development Director

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) is the National Governing body (NGB) for the sport in England, Scotland and Wales. In 2010 it began its ambitious transformation programme aimed at growing the sport and developing pathways for athletes, coaches, officials and administrators as well as developing a medal winning performance system.

The London Paralympics showcased the sport across the world and has created an unprecedented level of interest in the game which is translating into greater participation and the creation of new clubs. GBWR is now looking to move to a regional organisation and to create 3 Regional Development Officers who will be accountable to the National Development Director for developing and supporting the delivery of wheelchair rugby in their region.

This post is for the Regional Development Officer, Wales. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who shares our passion for providing opportunities for individuals to get involved in wheelchair rugby as players, officials, coaches and administrators. Your experience in delivering sports development activity will be important as will your experience of disability sport – if you have knowledge and experience of wheelchair rugby that will be even better!

You will be a team player but equally comfortable with working on your own to deliver key targets. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and you will be comfortable with working with a wide range of partners. Above all you will want to provide great opportunities for everyone who wants to be part of our sport and you will be prepared to go that extra mile to make that happen.

If this excites you then excite us with your application which must be received by 1200 on 4 January 2013. To apply please go to www.gbwr.org.uk where you will find the full job description, which includes application instructions. For an informal discussion on the position please contact the National Development Director, Kirsty Clarke at kirsty.clarke@gbwr.org.uk
