Julie Thomas competing in para lawn bowls at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

Bowls is a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages and played both indoors and outdoors. At club level it is a very social game and provides plenty of gentle exercise and a huge dose of competitive spirit. Internationally, it is played as part of the Commonwealth Games and in 2018, Wales took part in the Gold Coast Games, held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

The Welsh Bowling Association and your local club would love to welcome new members and many of the clubs in Wales hold open days or regular sessions where new bowlers can try the game for free.
