The Cardiff CELTS Wheelchair Basketball Club has had it’s most successful season ever with their second team winning the Development Division South for the fourth time in five years and their first team heading for the Championship Finals.

The first team are thrilled to have secured second place in the Division Two South table especially as it is only their second season since promotion into this division. They will face tough opposition in Sheffield on May 14th and 15th when the face Leeds Spiders who finished first in the North table. They will then face either Leicester Cobra’s or Bury Bombers on the Sunday to determine who will finish Division Two Champions and which teams will be promoted to Division One for next season.

CELTS were established in 2002 by Disability Sport Wales and Sport.Cardiff with just a handful of players initially. Since then they have grown into a thriving club with over 30 members of all ages and ability levels.

CELTS are always looking for new members to train recreationally or play competitively so if you want to get involved take a look at the club website www.cardiffwheelchairbasketball.co.uk   or contact the Disability Sports Wales Development Officer for Cardiff through this website.
