We're delighted to inform you that last night DSW Board Member Jenny Cottle won the ‘Employee Volunteer Award 2014’ at the Wales Responsible Business Awards evening, organised by Business in the Community.

In presenting the award to Jenny, the Panel recognised her outstanding commitment toward Disability Sport Wales both as a Board Member and Legal Advisor. In-addition Panel recognised her wider fundraising commitment for our organisation (e.g. running the Cardiff Half) as well as her role as an internal champion within Dolmans engaging her colleagues in our work and helping them to understand our role and purpose.

Outside of DSW, Jenny was commended for her legal support for Paralympic athlete David Weir and specifically the advice she has given which has enabled the establishment of the David Weir Academy which is a charity supporting aspiring athletes.

Jenny has also played a significant role in helping Dolmans to be selected onto the UK Sport Legal Framework which offers legal services to all Welsh NGBs – the only legal company in Wales to achieve this status.

In accepting the award, and as you might expect of Jenny, she preferred to use the opportunity to highlight the work of DSW – modest to the end. See the full story via the link below.

It was a very proud night for Dolmans & Disability Sport Wales reinforcing the strong partnership we enjoy as well as the role that business can play within Welsh sport. It was satisfying that in a well contested category the Panel chose to highlight this sport partnership as a worthy winner.
