Disability Sport Cymru is a joint initiative between FDSW, the Sports Council for Wales and the Local Authorities, aimed at developing quality led, community based sporting and recreational opportunities for disabled people in Wales.


As the post holder, you will be responsible for the creation and development of new and existing sporting and physical activity opportunities for disabled people across the local authority.


You will be required to work effectively alongside the sports development unit, Disability Sport Cymru team and other relevant partner agencies to ensure the effective development and promotion of opportunities across the local authority. You will provide professional support and advice to existing clubs and groups; this may include volunteer / coach recruitment, assistance with the identification and application for external funding.


You will be qualified to degree level with experience of working with disabled people in a voluntary or professional capacity, preferably in a sporting environment. The successful candidate will be required to travel independently throughout the County Borough area. A flexible approach to working hours is essential as weekend and evening work will be required.
