The Olympic flame has been travelling through Wales over the last few days with many torchbearers with an association with Disability Sport Wales being amongst the 8,000 being nominated for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Just after 11:00 BST on Friday May 25th, the torch crossed the English border into Wales being carried by our Chairman, Gareth John MBE (pictured left), will be the first torchbearer in Wales.

A number of officials, athletes and volunteers associated with Disability Sport Wales have been nominated to carry the torch around Wales. Highlights include:

A total of 8,000 people will carry the flame on its 8,000 mile, 70-day journey around the UK to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on 27 July.
