Great Britain have won silver and bronze in the pairs and team events at the World Boccia Championships  in Beijing.

Jacob Thomas, from Narberth in Pembrokeshire alongisde his team-mates Scott McCowan, and Patrick Wilson finished runners-up to Korea in the BC3 pairs event.

They beat Japan and Greece but found the world number ones too strong in the final, losing 6-1.

The BC1/2 team, which included Cardiff's Martin Davis, lost out to Brazil in their semi-final but recovered to beat Slovakia 6-2 for bronze.

There was disappointment for the BC4 pairs team who were beaten 6-0 by China in the play-off for third and fourth place.

The BC3 pairs, who won bronze at last year's European Championships, eased past Japan in their opening knockout game and then defeated Paralympic champions Greece 3-2 in a tense semi-final before Korea, who had also beaten GB in the pool games, showed their strength again.

The BC1/2 team of Nigel Murray, David Smith, Joshua Rowe and Martin Davis had finished top of their pool and had a comfortable win over Spain to reach the last four.

But the Brazilians finished 8-2 winners before they lost to Thailand in the final.

The singles matches get underway on Wednesday with GB hoping to add to their medal haul.
