British Wheelchair Basketball (BWB) and Disability Sport Wales has secured funding to deliver an exciting opportunity to drive development and participation in Wales for people with disabilities.

Wheelchair basketball in the UK has entered a very exciting period and Wales has been identified as key focus to drive participation and redress the participation rates in Wales for people with disabilities.

We are seeking to appoint a part-time officer with a background in the development and delivery of sport, to produce a network of wheelchair basketball opportunities and clubs across Wales. The officer will develop a regional support programme to ensure that ‘participation rates’ in Wheelchair Basketball in Wales continues to rise.

The successful candidate will be an excellent motivator who is creative and innovative in developing wheelchair basketball in Wales. The successful candidate will enable wheelchair basketball to engage with the delivery system of sport in Wales, developing opportunities to support the delivery of British Wheelchair Basketball’s ‘Whole Sport Plan’. Legacy and sustaining development in Wales will be a key driver for the successful candidate.

Location: Home Based with access to Hot Desk Facilities within the network

Responsible to: Development Director

Type of Contract: Part Time (24 hours)

Probation period 3 months

Initially Until 31st March 2015
