The Gwynedd based Meirionnydd Special Riding School which has been providing quality opportunities to enhance the lives of local disabled people in Dolgellau area, has been awarded a Disability Sport Wales Clubmark Award.

Sue Bramwell the chairperson of Meirionnydd Special Riding Group (MSRG)is proudly pictured receiving the award with the Mayor of Dolgellau. Sue added "I’m so happy for everyone who is involved with the club and i must make a special thanks to Ann Pattinson for all the work she has put in.  At MSRG we are committed to providing opportunities for disabled people to be involved in riding and stable management in a stimulating, fun and safe environment.  It is a tribute to the volunteers and everyone involved with the group that this has been recognised and we have been awarded this prestigious award.

To attain the Disability Sport Wales Clubmark Accreditation’ the club has demonstrated it’s management procedures, CRB checks, health & safety procedures, insurance, and roles and responsibilities for qualified staff and volunteers.

The Gwynedd Disability Sport Wales Officer who presented the club with a glass trophy in honour of its accreditation, said: "Everyone involved with the club fully deserves this for the tireless energy that they put in to provide so many wonderful riding opportunities for both disabled children and adults in Meirionnydd."
