David Phillips, from Cwmbran, has been selected to represent GB at the World Archery Para Championships and Paralympic games Qualifier event, and will wamr up for the event competing at the Czech Para World Ranking event.

Top archers gathered at Lilleshall at the weekend for two days of intense competition. Their aim? To be in with a chance of representing Great Britain at the World Archery Para Championships and Czech Para world ranking event. The teams have been named.

World Archery Para Championships

The archers representing Great Britain at the World Archery Para Championships and Paralympic qualifier in Donaueschingen from 23 to 30 August are:

W1 women: Jo Frith, Jessica Stretton, Vicky Jenkins

W1 men: John Walker, John Cavanagh

Recurve women: Hazel Chaisty, Kate Murray

Recurve men: David Philips, Simon Powell, Paul Brown

Compound women: Jodie Grinham

Compound men: John Stubbs, Michael Hall

VI B1 - Roger Rees-Evans

VI B2/B3 - Carmel Bassett, Peter Price, Steve Prowse

This team - apart from the VI archers - will also be in action at the Czech Para world ranking event in Nove Mesto, which runs from 6 to 13 July.
