Happy LGBT+ Pride Month

Day 2 saw disappointment fora few of our athletes, as we still await the sun to shine in Rio.

Jordan Howe (Cardiff) in the T35 100m was distraught following his disqualification due to a false start. He has to refocus now for the 200m later this week. In the T38 100m final Olivia Breen finished 7th in a tough race where GB took Gold & Bronze.

Over in Lagoa Rachel Morris (Milford Haven) won her heat easily in the Arms Only Sculling, as she competes in her third Paralympic Games, albeit in another sport.

In the Table Tennis mixed fortunes as Rob Davies (Brecon) won his second group game after a mammoth 5 sets, which sees him progress through to the Quarter Finals. In the same class Paul Davies (Bridgend) lost his opening match against a tough opponent. Paul Karabardak suffered two defeats both being tight games, losing both 3 - 2.

Better day for the GB Women's, including Clare Griffiths, in the Wheelchair Basketball where they bounced back from the Canada defeat, to beat Argentina 79 - 20. The men, with Phil Pratt, continued their winning streak, beating Iran 84 - 60.

Today's highlights include Jack Hodgson and Sabrina Fortune, the youngest Welsh athletes on the team, competing at their first Paralympics, Jack in the 100kg+ Judo, whilst Sabrina goes in the T20 Shot Put.
