Welsh Wheelchair Basketball has made further strides towards developing a team that can compete on the world stage. A brand new coaching team has been introduced in order to produce a squad of world-class players, at Under 15, Under 19 and Under 23 Level.
Each squad has been appointed coaching staff who are responsible for the development of individual players as well as team success. Although players and coaches are based across Wales, training camps are held prior to competition in North or South Wales, where the players meet to train together in preparation for key matches.
Last year, Welsh Wheelchair Basketball star Phillip Pratt won Bronze at the Rio Paralympics but it is hoped that with the new coaching set up, we will see even more Welsh success in future Paralympic Games.
