What information do DSW gather, and why do we ask for it?
Disability Sport Wales collect Equality Monitoring information every 18 months, and we do this in the following ways:
- Survey Monkey survey (English language)
- Survey Monkey survey (Welsh language)
- Easy Read print survey
- Print survey
- Large print survey
- Amanuensis support
Those individuals we ask to complete the survey for us are 'DSW members', so they are:
- Our Federate organisations
- Our Board members
- Our core staff
- Coaches working within a talent, Academy or Performance environment
- Athletes who are training and competing in a talent, Academy or Performance environment
- Our Disability Sport Wales Development Officer network within the 22 Local Authorities
We very much believe that in order to do as good a job as we can for everyone, and anyone who are already, or might want to be, involved with (disability) sport - that we need to know who is already involved, and who isn't. That way we can work out what we do well, and where we can improve.
All information provided within the audit is anonymous and confidential - but we do communicate our general findings with our members and the wider sector so that we can tell you what we know, and what action we are planning to take in order to keep doing a better job for disabled communities across Wales.
Stonewall has produced a leaflet which gives further information about the types of questions being asked, and why it is so important for organisations to understand the answers.
