insport Award
Nominate an insport Club, Third Sector organisation, National Governing Body (NGB) or Local Authority Team for the insport Award.
This award recognises the outstanding achievement of an inclusive Club, Organisation or programme during 2021/22. The organisation will demonstrate commitment to, and growth around the principles of inclusion while working towards one of the insport programmes to increase the opportunities to disabled people.
You can submit your nomination in a number of ways:
- Online via our Nomination Form (below)
- By sending a completed Nomination Form (Microsoft Word document) to awardsnominations@disabilitysportwales.com
- If you would like to submit your nomination as a video (for example if you'd prefer to use British Sign Language), please see Video Submission Guidance
- If you would prefer to submit your nomination as an audio file (for example you feel you communicate better with spoken language rather than written language), please see Audio Submission Guidance

What we’re looking for:
- Examples of where the club/session, organisation or programme has had an illustrated impact on
- widening access to inclusive sport through its provision
- a range of communities of disabled people
- its approach to providing opportunities for disabled people
- innovative practice which has been shared with others in some format
- the coaching/volunteering/officiating/support workforce
- marketing materials and products, and the wider promotion of opportunities
- Evidence of an increase in the number of disabled members within the club/session, organisation or programme
- Illustration of the wider impact on the participants and/or performers (such as personal development, health and wellbeing and educational attainment)
- A visible contribution to the community within which the club/session, organisation or programmes exists
Process for selection from total nominees:
- Internal Panel will shortlist to six nominees
- Six nominees will be referred for consideration to the independent Awards Panel, who will select a category winner and two other finalists
- Should your application be shortlisted, the Nominator may be required to provide further detail to the nomination at the award panel which will take place on 25th April 2022.
- The Winner will be announced at the DSW Virtual Awards on Friday 24th June 2022

Video Submission Guidance
If you would prefer to submit your nomination in a video format, for example so that you can use British Sign Language, please make sure to include the same information we require in the written form. You can use the following as a checklist to help you:
- The name of the award you are nominating for (e.g. "insport Award")
- The name of the insport Club / Organisation / Team you are nominating
- A contact name, email address and telephone number for the Club / Organisation / Team
- Which Local Authority (local council area) the Club / Organisation / Team operate in
- Which sport(s) or activity/activities the Club / Organisation / Team offer
- Your full name
- A contact email address and telephone number for you
- Which Local Authority (local council area) you live in
- Your relationship to the Club / Organisation / Team you are nominating (e.g. are you a member of the club? Do you volunteer with the organisation?)
- The key achievements of the Club / Organisation / Team in the past 12 months (2021-22) that you think make them worthy of the insport Award. Please try to include facts and figures to support their achievements.
- How the organisation in making an inclusive impact, and why they should win the award.
Please make sure to speak or sign as clearly as you can.
Submitting your video:
Once you are happy with your video, you can get it to us in a number of ways:
- Send us the video via WhatsApp: +44 7458 031 645. The video will be received by Claire Venn, Disability Sport Wales Business Manager.
- Upload it to a secure Cloud Storage service (e.g. Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox etc.) and share the file with awardsnominations@disabilitysportwales.com
- Use a large file delivery service (e.g. WeTransfer) to send the video privately to awardsnominations@disabilitysportwales.com
We require names, email addresses, phone numbers etc. to be included in your submission as we may need to contact you as nominator, or the nominee as part of the assessment of the Award. For this reason, your video submission will contain information that should not be publicly shared. We ask that you do not upload your nomination to public video sharing or social media websites and services like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok etc.
