Fencing
There are a range of opportunities across Wales for people to participate in Wheelchair Fencing. It was introduced to the paralympic fencing programme at the Rome Paralympic Games in 1960.
You don’t have to have a disability or an impairment to participate in wheelchair fencing but there are eligibility criteria and a classification process if you wish to compete.
People who have a physical impairment are eligible to compete in foil epée (men and women) and sabre (men) events. The athlete wheelchairs are fastened to the floor during competition.
