Session 11
Resources and Case Studies to Support Inclusive Practice
This session brings together a series of snapshot case studies, each offering a unique insight into innovative approaches that are supporting inclusion, and community participation across Wales through sport and physical activity.
Beginning by spotlighting a series of resources, including Choose Cymru, an inclusive event toolkit developed in collaboration with Event Wales, and a range of Taith supported projects. Illustrating how structured learning pathways are being used to develop resource, build confidence, and skills among disabled people through meaningful international exchange and development experiences.
The session continues by celebrating personal and community transformation through grassroots participation. Highlighting the role of support networks and inclusive environments in enabling individuals to overcome barriers and achieve their goals, demonstrated through Triathlon.
We then explore the Actif Gogledd Cymru Workplace Toolkit, designed to empower organisations across North Wales to integrate physical activity into daily work routines. This toolkit promotes staff wellbeing, productivity, and healthier workplaces through simple and adaptable solutions.
Finally, we share key insights from Sported; Inclusion in sport doesn’t start on the pitch—it begins in the boardroom. Exploring Sported’s Strategic Volunteering Project and its mission to strengthen and diversify leadership in the community sport sector.
Together, these case studies provide practical takeaways for organisations working to make their environments more inclusive and impactful across Wales.
